My Girls are Growing Up

They say Queensland is beautiful one day, perfect the next – well so far we have to agree. We have had nothing but perfect weather so far and thoroughly enjoying the sun and all the water related fun that goes along with it.

Whether I like it or not – my girls are growing up. This is the first time in 9 years that we can sit on the side of the pool and not HAVE to go in with the girls. They are all very capable swimmers now and no longer need me next to them….. am I sad about this? Well not really as I love to read and OK I love to tan the body but moreso I love just sitting back and watching them play together…yes I said it …together …they actually do that without fighting sometimes. This morning was another time when I sat back on the beach and just watched Jess in the surf. More than capable and having a fantastic time, totally enjoying herself talking and playing with a BOY……Who is he, where does he come from, how old is he, so much for not talking to strangers….. Nahhh it was really cute to watch this kid just came up to her and they clicked and played together for ages. She keep turning around every few minutes just to check I was still on the beach and hadn’t left. David took the other two back to the pool as he didn’t think she was ever going to get out. Jess told me later his name was Dominic and how he thought she was older than what she is… hmmmm (bit of a problem her being so tall – maybe we can knock her on the head) anyway he is in Grade 6 and couldn’t believe Jess is only in Grade 3. Anyway they had a ball diving over and under waves, laughing and giggling and I sat back on the beach thinking of things to come…my little girl is growing up.

WOW .... look at Jess go with an older boy. She does look grown up though, and she's just got the lovliest little personality, so it's no wonder people tend to be drawn to her.
Keep an eye on those boys Lis :)
